The popular augmented reality app allows players to travel between the real world and the virtual world of Pokemon. And how many can you catch exactly? If you live outside of a big city, it can be pretty hard to play Pokémon Go.

If you own a smartphone and live in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Germany or the UK, chances are you’ve been playing Pokemon Go this week.

As you walk around your town, city or local area, your smartphone will vibrate to let you know if you are near a Pokemon. There might be more in the full consumer release, although 151 sounds about right as that’s the exact same number of Pokemon that appeared in the original Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue Game Boy games that originally started the whole (Poke) ball rolling.

PokeStops are based on real-world locations, which create hubs where players can meet.

That’s all changed though, as Pokémon Go has now officially launched in the United Kingdom for both Android and iPhones.

An open map detailing gyms and Pokestops in Dundee has been created.

Already bigger than Whatsapp, Instagram and Snapchat, the app, which sees inidividuals hunt “pocket monsters” overlaid on reality via their phone, had already attracted thousands of British users who used workarounds to get the game early.

The official Pokemon Go Twitter account posted: “UK Trainers, the wait is over”.
