Technology news site TechCrunch said that game developer Niantic Inc had planned to launch Pokemon GO in Japan on July 20 but had cancelled it, citing a source as saying that the company was anxious the hype generated by the game would overload its servers.
“Nintendo have a very large investment in said company, and this game was hyped up big time over the last couple of weeks or so – they should have been prepared, it’s just not good enough”.
Japanese media and users on Twitter say that “Pokemon Go” has been released in Japan. It’s planned to launch in Japan today, which will greatly boost the number of players. He is anticipating that Japanese fans will get an improved version of the game as technological glitches reported in other countries are repaired.
Unquestionably, Pokemon Go has become a worldwide sensation to quickly become the most popular mobile game in history.
Users began tweeting it was available Friday morning, and the Pokemon Co. and the developer of the augmented reality game, US -based Niantic Inc., confirmed its launch shortly after.
The game is reportedly coming soon to the island nation, and ahead of that, the Japanese government has now put out a one-page flier that warns players of potential danger and issues they could encounter while searching for Pokemon. Today, McDonald’s announced its partnering with Niantic Labs for a “Pokemon Go” promotion.
But game industry watchers who are familiar with Japan’s network are not that optimistic toward the released day.
The share price of Nintendo has soared an incredible 50 per cent since the launch of Pokemon Go to a staggering £25.7 billion.
