Pokemon Go Player Gets An Entire Country Banned From Game
It’s a small update to be sure but it does slightly alleviate one of the more frustrating parts of the game, particularly for players new to the whole Pokemon thing who are unaware of type-weaknesses.

Heads up Pokemon GO gamers, if you’re getting a little exhausted of the game and its same old features over and over again, you’ll be pleased to learn that Niantic has recently issued an update that will introduced a new feature called Appraisal, that will hopefully make the game a bit more interesting.
Do you think Niantic’s policies should take into account the more hardcore players like Derocher, or would that allow for more cheaters using bots to slip through the cracks?
The Pokemon GO development team has said that it is working hard on bringing exciting new features to Pokemon GO in the future. This individual claims to have used a set of “burner” SIM cards to execute thousands of scans of the Pokemon Go servers.
“Niantic Labs recently implemented an anti-botting policy becoming more well-known to players as a “soft-ban”, Derocher told Kotaku. Since the banning of Proxmius’s national IP address disabled Proximus users from using mobile data to access the game, this inadvertently led to the developer banning every Proximus user. Granted, the folks at Niantic likely weren’t aware that the IP address was a national carrier IP, but undoubtedly assumed it was coming from a single user. Niantic has yet to comment on the matter.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the entire country was banned from accessing Pokemon Go. Per Game Rant report, Brazilian users went on a public outrage after the game was shut down due to bot and third-party apps issues. Fortunately for Belgium’s Pokemon GO community, Proximus announced the system was back online for players within a couple days.
Pokemon Go is starting to lose the battle for mobile mindshare, according to Axiom Capital Management.
