Nintendo’s new journey into the Pokémon universe, Pokémon Go, is already dictating people’s lives just 24 hours after it was released.

Global Positioning System chips in player’s smartphones are used to map their real-life movements onto the game world, while software overlays the 3D characters onto the view through the phone’s camera. Opposing teams will have to battle that Pokemon when attacking that gym.

Not only has Pokemon GO topped the free iOS app charts, but it’s about to eclipse Twitter as the most-used free app on the market. Ingress can be accessed from your desktop in a “Google Maps” type format that allows you to search out the stops, gyms, and even see where the most people are at the moment, which sometimes equates to a rare or popular find. Consistently capturing Pokemon is a great way to boost your experience points and level-up.

– While walking, watch smartphone map for what appear to be bursts of leaves or grass. This is nearly like the Pokemon rustling the bushes and, if approached, a Pokemon will more than likely appear to the user.

Players can bring up to six Pokemon to attack a gym.

These updates will range in various sizes and will add various features, such as trading Pokemon between players. Trainers gather Stardust with every Pokemon they catch and can use it to boost their Pokemon’s power.

– Chose to join the red, blue or yellow team. Keep track on a sandwich board or store window which team now controls the nearby Gym and give a discount for the winning team members.

– After defeating a rival Pokemon, leave your own Pokemon to rule the gym.

Although it is only officially available in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the United States, many fans from other parts of the world have been searching for ways to download the app.

Video and photos of Pokemon all around Malta and the rest of the world have been popping up all over Facebook.

Along with creating a frenzy with users, the game, which prompts people to walk around and “collect” monsters via their phones in real locations, has sent advertisers scrambling for strategies to capitalize on its popularity.
