Pokemon GO Revenue Exceeds $200M
Within two weeks of its launch, it was termed as the best smartphone game in the world. The developer has had to struggle with bugs as well as security issues among user complaints that many feared would have derailed the game’s popularity. Revenues from the game received a huge boost 18 days after the initial launch when it was finally released in Japan. Recently it has been announced that despite all the glitches and server issues, the game in its first few week pulled in over a whooping $200 million! The milestone can be attributed to other regions as well, where the game received an overwhelming response from the gamers. Clash Royale took home less than $125 million in its first month of availability, meaning that this new record beat out the old one by more than 50%. Last month, the Japanese gaming giant said that “Pokemon Go” will have a “limited” impact on income and that it won’t modify its financial forecasts. This implies that some additional topline gains are in the pipeline.

The game is now available in over fifty countries, with latest additions being Papua New Guinea, Brunei, or Micronesia – one of the smallest nations in the world.
“Pokemon Go” is still being rolled out into new territories while Niantic is still trying to iron out problems that have angered fans.
