Pokemon Go takes world by storm, earns $1.6m daily
Data analysis company SurveyMonkey revealed on Wednesday that Pokemon Go is the most successful mobile-based app in USA history with some 21 million daily active users in 24 hours, exceeding the successes of Draw Something and Candy Crush, with some 16 and 20 million users respectively. This has resulted in a positive bump in Nintendo’s share value, with tech pundits already proclaiming the new app as a game changer.

Sure, the numbers of installs and users are important, but what about engagement?
With Pokémon GO’s absurd growth rate, it’s already passed Twitter and Candy Crush Saga, moving it into third place among those now on Android phones at approximately 11 million daily active users.
And, the augmented-reality game will also pass Google Maps active daily users on Android.
An app that began as an April Fools joke has become a worldwide phenomenon, achieving more than 15 million downloads in the space of a week, and an estimated $1.6 million daily in revenues.
And along the way, it beat some unlikely records as well.

The Pokemon Go app, has been downloaded more times in a week than the dating app Tinder has in its four years of existence, with Nintendo having to pause the game’s global roll-out, in order to boost server capacity. The revenue for its publisher, Niantic, is off the charts – it earns millions of dollars daily. Pokemon trainers can now have different and targeted experiences when they enter stores who are partners with Niantic.
