Pokemon GO unofficially comes to Windows 10 phone via PoGo-UWP app

We recently announced that PoGo UWP, a third-party client that brings Pokemon Go to Windows 10 Mobile, is now available in a beta state. Everyone can give it a try by following the instructions below.

At the time I wrote the first article, the developer said that he has a lot of work to do (actually he was busy watching cat videos on Facebook) and he must finish previous projects before starting working on the Pokemon Go app for WP 10.

The game might be a little bit different from that version of Pokemon Go on Android and iOS platform.

Like most mobile apps and games out there, Pokémon GO has no support for Windows 10. The app isn’t now available on the Windows 10 Store, but you can download and install the necessary files for free, providing you have a PC, Windows 10 Mobile, and home WiFi network to get set up. Log in with your account created on Android or iOS (or in BlueStacks) and catch ’em all.

Enable Device Portal on Windows 10 Mobile, follow this Microsoft tutorial on how to do that. Go to Settings and search “For developers”. Once the Device Portal is done, you will see an IP address which you need to visit from your PC. Navigate to this IP address via a web browser on the PC containing the Github files.

Add the file “PokemonGo-UWP_1.0.3.0_ARM_Debug.appx” under Install App, then Add package. Just head over to this link, and download the latest ARM appx available. Put all those files in one single folder to make the deploy process slightly easier. Enable Developer mode, Device discovery, and Device Portal.

Called PoGo, the Pokemon Go client for Windows 10 Mobile comes as a universal app and is built by the developer of Windows phone app One Auth – we reported recently that he built a concept of Pokemon Go for Windows phones, but he now chose to make it public and allow everyone to try it out. One of the bugs that has been observed while testing is that the game crashes when a player taps or pans on the map after capturing a Pokemon or while visiting a PokeStop.

Install Bluestacks, then go to the Google Play Store and download Pokemon Go. The makers of Pokemon Go have started to crackdown on unofficial apps that access the Pokemon Go servers. Let us know in the comment section below.
