Polar brings its fitness focus to Android Wear with the M600
It tracks activity, sleep, steps, calories, and provides inactivity alerts. It also has built-in Global Positioning System and storage for music, so you don’t need your phone to listen to tunes or track your path on a run.

The Polar M600 features a 1.3 inch color touch display, a front button for quick and easy training control, 4GB of integrated storage for music, battery life of up to 10 hours for Global Positioning System tracking and two days of typical usage, Polar Flow and Android Wear app support, and more.
One potential issue with the M600 is that its battery life is closer to an Android Wear device than a Global Positioning System running watch.
While you can use another fitness tracking app if you want to, the Polar apps are excellent choices.
The M600 has a 1.3-inch color touchscreen, but also has physical buttons for starting and stopping activities-a crucial feature, as many touchscreens are hard to use when wet. Inside is a built-in Global Positioning System, and underneath the module is a 6-LED optical heart rate monitor.
The Polar M600 is going to be available at the end of Q3 for the hefty price of $329 or Euro 349.
Inside the M600, there’s an accelerometer, GPS, and a modified version of Android Wear.
Thanks to the watch’s 4GB of storage, users can load music onto the M600 via Google Play and listen to it without their smartphone.
Once connected to the Android Wear app on your phone, you can customize the watch face from a selection of analog and digital options. The interface is similar to other Android Wear devices, with the time on the default homepage, an app menu when you swipe to the left, quick settings when you swipe down from the top, and your most recent notification when you swipe up from the bottom. Polar says the battery lasts up to 48 hours, but drops to about 8 hours with Global Positioning System activated. The tracker charges via its own proprietary cable.
Of course, being the first doesn’t mean you’ll always be on top.
