Polar M600 Android Wear Smartwatch Unveiled
On August 3, the Finnish company known as the maker of activity tracking and heart sensor device has officially launched its latest product called Polar M600. The smartwatch’s HRM is a modified version of the A360’s HRM, with additional LEDs to cut down noise and enhance accuracy. While it’s undoubtedly a fitness tracker, it offers a sleek build on par with many other smartwatches out there. But the new Polar M600 seems more like a fitness tracker with watch functions than vice versa. Polar created the first heart rate monitor, the first activity tracker and now we’re the first true sports wearable company to announce a smartwatch truly made for sports. Additionally, the Polar Flow service allows you to keep track of your activity from the companion Android and iOS apps.

Polar’s M600 is definitely oriented toward fitness, with a design that’s focused more on activity than style. That’s a drawback for anyone who uses the M600’s fitness features as regularly as they use the smartwatch features-all that work will drain the battery even faster.
Speaking of which, the exact capacity of the internal battery hasn’t been specified, but is said to be large enough to power up to 48 hours of normal use. Meet the Android Wear-powered Polar M600, a smartwatch centered on advanced fitness-tracking abilities. So rather than simply being alerted to notifications on your smartphone, the M600 enables you to reply to texts, scroll through social media feeds, receive calendar notifications and customise watch faces.
As much as we love the Android Wear platform, it hasn’t expanded quite like we had hoped initially.

As a smartwatch, there’s 4GB of storage for music and Android Wear apps, and Bluetooth means you can connect a pair of headphones and leave the phone at home while exercising. Customers will also be given access to the new Polar Running Program, an adaptive training plan that aims to get users in shape for long-distance running events such as a 5K, a 10K, a half-marathon, or a full marathon. The Polar M600 will be priced at $330 and is expected to be released towards the end of Q3 2016. The interchangeable bands will be initially available in black and white, the same color options as for the watch itself, but Polar says that a red color option will debut later this year. Most similar to the Polar V800, it also rocks a vibrant silicone band that will stand up to the rigors of working out.
