Police arrest USA citizen of Afghan origin for NY blast
Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, was taken into custody by police in Linden, New Jersey, law enforcement officials announced, after a brief altercation.

The restaurant, First American Fried Chicken, is owned by Rahami’s father and has also employed some of his brothers, Elizabeth Mayor Christian Bollwage said.
Armstead says the man pulled out a handgun and fired at the officers, hitting one in a bulletproof vest.
Police on Monday searched multiple locations in Elizabeth and Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Sweeney said.
The gunfire left Ahmad Khan Rahami and two police officers wounded.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday morning said on CNN that he “would not be surprised if we did have a foreign connection to the act”.
“We need to get this guy in right away. Things are moving very quickly”.
Investigators examined the scene of the explosion in Manhattan in or near a skip as well as a second unexploded bomb found four blocks away that appeared to be a home-made pressure-cooker device wired to what looked like a mobile phone.
One of the devices detonated while a police robot was trying to disarm it.
In the immediate aftermath of that bombing, de Blasio and Cuomo were careful to say there was no evidence of a link to global terrorism. “My operating premise is anytime, anywhere, seven days a week you could have an incident like this”.
US President Barack Obama was to meet Monday with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and later Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel.
A group of men were stopped and questioned in Brooklyn, New York, on Sunday night in connection with the explosions, but their current status was unclear, other national security sources said.
Investigators are working to determine who was behind the explosion that injured more than two dozen people Saturday in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.
Officials said it did not appear that this incident and the one in NY were connected, though they were not ruling anything out.
“He wanted me to tell the people of New York City how much he admired the resilience of the people [here], how our people handled this crisis from moment one, with strength and resilience”, the mayor said.
The moment a blast rocked Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood Saturday night, injuring at least 29 people, was caught on closed-circuit television footage from three cameras.
Authorities say the New York City bomb contained residue of an explosive often used for target practice that can be picked up in many sporting goods stores.
Both Chelsea bombs were made with pressure cookers.
