Flowers, candles and other objects were being placed on a sidewalk on Broadway Road near McClintock Drive in the area where 19-year-old Yue Jiang, an global student from China, was shot and killed Saturday afternoon. Police said Davis got out of her vehicle and fired multiple shots into the victim’s vehicle, hittingher multiple times. After a collision, Davis allegedly got out of her auto and fired several shots into the other vehicle, hitting the female driver several times.

According to Lieutenant Michael Pooley of the Tempe police on Sunday, Davis was booked on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault with deadly weapon, possession of weapon by prohibited person and disorderly conduct with firearm.

That paperwork also shows that the officers who arrested Davis suspect she might be an alcoholic or addict. They did not sustain any serious injuries, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Holly Davis, 32, had her initial appearance with a judge over the weekend where her bond was set.

Police closed the intersection to investigate and clear the scene.

“Regarding yesterday’s incident where ASU student Yue Jiang was killed, we just want to say that fellow students are being encouraged to talk with counselors, and that our thoughts and prayers are with the student’s family”.

Police said Davis also pointed her gun at Jiang’s passenger.

Police said Davis ran away from the scene after the shooting, but was found inside a Mesa home.

According to police reports, she hid her vehicle and her gun before returning to her apartment, where she took a shower and washed her clothes, azcentral.com reported.
