NY police believed that Rahami is the man who appears in videos taken by security cameras on 23rd Street in the Chelsea neighbourhood of Lower Manhattan, where on Saturday a bomb exploded that injured nearly 30 people on 27th Street, and where another device was found that did not detonate.

Authorities said the Manhattan bombing and New Jersey pipe bomb didn’t appear to be connected, though they weren’t ruling anything out. He’s a very friendly guy, that’s what’s so scary.
In the immediate aftermath of the New York bombing, de New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and Cuomo were careful to say there was no evidence of a link to global terrorism. He promised all authorities would collaborate to protect NY and to hunt down all those involved in the bombing.
Neither of the New Jersey bombs caused any injuries, but one of the devices in Elizabeth did startle police when a bomb robot cut a wrong wire, causing the device to explode early Monday morning.
The bombings in New York City and New Jersey happened the same day that a man stabbed and injured nine people at a Minnesota mall before an off-duty police officer fatally shot him.
Obama vowed Monday to continue fighting the Islamic State, which he said motivates certain individuals to carry out attacks in the US and other countries. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility. “We have no information that would link them to this at all”, Boyce said at a briefing.
He said Rahami’s father and two brothers sued the city after it passed an ordinance requiring the restaurant to close early because of complaints from neighbors about it being a late-night nuisance.
She wouldn’t provide further details, but a government official and a law enforcement official who were briefed on the investigation told The Associated Press that five people in the auto were being questioned at an FBI building in Manhattan.
Obama said that law enforcement is working “around the clock” to keep Americans safe.
On Sunday, a team of five Federal Bureau of Investigation agents searched an Uber driver’s vehicle that had been damaged in the Manhattan blast, ripping off the door panels inside as they examined it for evidence.
Investigators believe more people were involved in the NY and New Jersey bombing plots, two USA officials told Reuters. The bomb went off on a street packed with eateries. The race was canceled.

A similar bomb was found four blocks away but it did not detonate.
Unlike on airlines, rail passengers don’t need to show photo identification to board.
The pipe bomb exploded on Saturday in Seaside Park, New Jersey, before a charity 5K race to benefit Marines and sailors.
