Police charge suspect with murder of MP Jo Cox
White House deputy press secretary Jennifer Friedman said the White House sent “sincere and heartfelt condolences” to Cox’s family and loved ones, but referred questions about the political motivations behind the attack to United Kingdom authorities.

London’s Metropolitan Police said earlier that Cox had made a complaint about “malicious communications” that resulted in a man being arrested and formally warned by police in March.
Ms Cox was attacked in the street following a constituency surgery in Birstall public library on Thursday afternoon and was rushed to hospital, but was declared dead 1.48pm.
The killing prompted a suspension of campaigning for the June 23 European Union referendum, the tone of which has become ugly and included bitter personal recriminations as well as furious debate of issues such as immigration and the economy.
On Friday, Prime Minister David Cameron and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn appeared together in Birstall, laying flowers in memory of Cox, and calling her death an “attack on democracy”.
Eyewitnesses said that Jo Cox was shot two or three times before being stabbed as she lay on the pavement.
“He has a history of mental illness but he has had help”, his brother, Scott Mair, said.
In Westminster, colleagues and members of the public also gathered to remember the mother-of-two.
Mair spent at least $620 between 1999 and 2000 on books and other materials from the National Alliance’s publishing house, according to records obtained by the center, which tracks hate groups in the U.S.
Nathan Cullen spoke through tears as he described the “mum of two attractive children, a friend, dedicated Labour MP and long advocate of human rights”. One claimed the attacker yelled, “Britain first!” as he opened fire.
Cox supported the Remain side, which, like the rival Leave camp, suspended its campaigning following her murder.
Cox was shot and killed in a ferocious attack in the northern English village of Birstall.
“All people who bring love, peace and understanding are welcome”.
The man responsible for the killing of MP Jo Cox reportedly was found to have long-standing ties with a USA -based neo-Nazi organisation, National Alliance.
“We’ll be reviewing our security, but I’ll walk through Barnsley today like every Friday”, said Jarvis, an army veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“Vote Leave will be suspending major campaign events tomorrow such as the planned rally in Birmingham”, in central England, a spokesman for the Brexit camp said, adding however that low key campaigning like leafleting was likely to continue.
