Police discover meth lab found inside Taco Bell

The report says that one of the men told police he was an employee at the restaurant, and the other said he was not.

Taco Bell says one of the men was an employee, who has now been fired, adding that the restaurant will be sanitised before it reopens.

Authorities are investigating a meth lab in a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Taco Bell, according to KCRG, the local ABC affiliate.

In a statement, the restaurant corporation said the incident was “unacceptable” but “isolated”. Greg Buelow, the public safety spokesman of Cedar Rapids, said the investigation first began just before five o’clock on Tuesday morning…. Although the suspicious items found in the restaurant were not used in the kitchen, the employee has been terminated and our franchisee is considering pressing criminal charges.

Officers went inside the restaurant at the request of a manager and the investigators found materials identified as equipment for the production of methamphetamine.

The two men, aged 31 and 56, were arrested and later charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. Two of the charges are felonies. Duby is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

“The restaurant will reopen after it has been sanitized and inspected by the Health Department”, the company said.
