Rose Medical Center in Denver is ordering its staff and patients to shelter in place on Friday afternoon following reports of an active shooter.

The original call for shots fired came out at 4 p.m. but police have not been able to verify that.

Authorities were looking for a suspect described as a white male in his mid-30s wearing a flannel shirt and a hat.

Police have lifted orders for people to shelter in place at buildings surrounding a Denver hospital complex that was put on lockdown after reports of shots being fired.

A room-by-room search of Rose Medical Center continued into the evening. At about 5:30, police said they didn’t have any victims or injuries were reported. Police could not confirm that there was a shooting, but did say they have units at the scene.

Rose Medical Center spokeswoman Julie Hogan said Friday no one at the hospital was hurt.

Police have not confirmed that any shots were fired.

Denver police officers surrounded the complex east of downtown after the sighting, captured on a surveillance camera.
