Police find car from which teen jumped to escape abduction

Video of the incident was captured by the city’s Safe Corridors program, police said.

Bridgeport Police have released CCTV footage of the drama in an effort to help track down the driver.

Officials say she is now OK.

A nearby traffic camera showed the girl evaded her captor by jumping from the passenger door of their moving auto while it sped down Boston Avenue.

Students at Warren Harding High School are reacting with shock, learning about what police say was the attempted abduction of one of their peers this week.

Thursday afternoon, police announced they identified a suspect in the case and located a auto that was used. The Toyota is missing its rear bumper.

Parents who saw the video said they were shocked by the suspect’s brazen attempt.

She was not hurt and told police she was walking to school on Boston Avenue when a charcoal gray Toyota Yaris approached her and the driver lured her into the vehicle and then attacked her police said.

Anyone with information about who the auto belongs to or the driver is asked to call Bridgeport police.
