Police, Firefighters Investigate Suspicious White Powder at Trump Tower in NYC

Emergency medical crews responded around 8 p.m.to the call, evacuating six people, five of whom were Trump campaign staff, according to the Associated Press.

Police say an envelope containing a white powdery substance that was mailed to Donald Trump’s campaign office in New York City is harmless.

They alerted security after they discovered a mysterious white powder inside.

Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks directed all questions to the US Secret Service. A staffer opened the letter and immediately called police.

Five civilians and one police officer are now isolated and being monitored by authorities, the spokesman said, though no one appears to be sick or injured.

After tests, the NYPD reportedly found nothing hazardous.

Hazmat teams and emergency crews surrounded Trump Tower this evening after an envelope of suspicious white powder was mailed to Donald Trump.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Fire Department said there was a HazMat unit on site.
