The shooting occurred on Sixth Street, a popular nightlife district, where the suspect pulled out a weapon and began firing into the crowd early Sunday morning, according to police.

Family members tell KRON4 News, 30-year-old Moultrie was visiting her fiance’s family members who could not make it to their wedding in California.

Three other women were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

“She went to have fun, spend time with her fiancée’s family and just enjoy being young and vibrant”, said Ricky.

“It just doesn’t seem real, she was she was such a sweet girl, like nothing like that should’ve ever happened to her”, says Ricky.

She was engaged to Sabrina Rudd, whose family lives in Austin.

The other three female victims, all in their 30s, are being treated at a hospital for gunshot wounds.

Police told CBS Austin station KEYE that they believe the intended target of the shooting was another man whose whereabouts are unknown. However after police arrived on the scene, they realized the incidents were separate.
