Boston police say they are investigating an incident involving that took place between Sixers rookie and a fan, according to reports.

The 76ers led heading into the final minutes, but were finally overhauled by a late rally from the Celtics, who scraped home 84-80 as Philadelphia’s miserable campaign continued.

“Apparently, they said: ‘The 76ers (stink) and you guys are all losers”.

Jeff Goodman of ESPN also reported that one source who was with Okafor during the incident confirmed to him that the 19-year-old was heckled.

“I was around the corner when it happened”. “I think that was just the result of them thinking they are just drafting the best player that was left on the board”, Okafor said when asked about the team’s drafting process. When it’s all said and done though, Okafor will face a suspension and hopefully will learn from this incident. But at least for now, he seems safe from getting into any legal trouble because of it. Okafor told reporters he knows now that he should have just walked away.

Okafor said the embarrassment is the toughest part about the situation.

Based on their sport science research, the Sixers chose to stay overnight in Boston instead of traveling to Texas immediately after the Celtics game.

Okafor talked about the incident and he said that he is completely embarrassed by his actions.

In an email to The Philadelphia Inquirer, a Sixers spokesman said, “We are aware of the report, and we are now working to gather additional information”.

“I’m going to embrace it”, Oladipo said before the game. This is the second year in a row that Philadelphia has started their season with an embarrassing 0-16 record.
