Police in MA are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who they say stole a helmet autographed by the Super Bowl XLIX champion New England Patriots from a bar near Gillette Stadium.

The Sun Chronicle reports that Foxborough, Massachusetts, selectmen on Tuesday named William Baker the town’s new police chief to replace Ed O’Leary, who’s retiring after 31 years as department head.
Police said the man stole a 2014 team autographed Patriots helmet from Skipjack’s Restaurant.
“The next day, he called and said he did something bad at our restaurant”, said general manager Peter Dowd.
The suspect orders, then jumps over the bar grabbing the signed Patriots helmet, and then leaves the restaurant. They instead contacted Foxborough Police detectives so they could investigate the contents and take fingerprints.

The package also contained a note that said “sorry for the trouble!” and $70 for the thief’s unpaid tab.
