In a news conference, Yusufiy said that she met Mateen online and they were married in 2009.
When asked exactly where Mateen visited, and whether the locations included theme parks as reported in news accounts, Dyer said, “I think it’s been pretty accurately depicted on the news”.
He searched for the terms “Pulse Orlando” and “Shooting”, according to a letter released by a Senate committee.
Law enforcement officials said Salman accompanied Mateen on trips to scout potential targets, though it is unclear how much she knew about his intentions.
Yusufiy, during an interview at her home in Colorado, said Mateen had seemed “perfect – American enough for her free spirit and Muslim enough to please her traditional family”.
He saw Mateen at the club at least a dozen times, he told the Sentinel.
When asked about an incident a few years ago, which has been widely reported, where Omar Mateen had shown anger after seeing two men kissing each other, Mr Mateen said: “It was a normal reaction (to the kissing), but why should I get mad?”
30-year-old Salman reportedly told the investigators that she tried to talk her husband out of carrying the attack against the gay nightclub.
