Police officer injured in Highway 1 crash in Langley

A westbound auto struck the boys and they were both rushed to hospital in serious condition but with non-life threatening injuries. It happened near Langley this morning and shut down the route westbound.

Sgt. Annie Linteau said unmarked RCMP vehicle had its emergency lights activated, was parked on the side of the highway and awaiting the arrival of a tow-truck following a single vehicle rollover. She’s suffered serious injuries.

Three people in the vehicle that rear-ended the officer were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, RCMP said in a press release.

There is still no word on the person who was injured in the original rollover.

The officer was investigating a single vehicle rollover and was waiting for a tow truck. The vehicle then ignited.
