Johnny Manziel and his girlfriend were involved in an incident last week.
Photos of Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel’s girlfriend Colleen Crowley, taken by the Avon Police department, are now circulating the Internet after news of a domestic incident between the two in the western Cleveland suburb broke this weekend.
On Friday, Manziel tweeted, “Colleen and I got into a dumb public argument on the way home …”
League spokesman Brian McCarthy said Manziels situation will be reviewed. The league, though, typically investigates any potential violation of its personal conduct policy. Pettine does not have a timetable on when the league will have a decision.
Crowley had an abrasion on her arm, but stemmed from Manziel trying to keep her the auto while it was moving. Manziel also reportedly admitted to drinking earlier in that day.
In January, Manziel checked himself into a Pennsylvania rehab facility specializing in the treatment for alcohol and substance abuse for an unspecified condition. If Manziel violated terms of his program, he could face fines and suspensions.
Almost all of the first 15 minutes of Pettine’s news conference was spent on Manziel. The organization discussed it with Manziel and chose to have him active for the 26-23 overtime loss to the Broncos on Sunday in his normal role as backup to Josh McCown. “He’s made huge strides around this building”.
Avon police caught up to Johnny on Nagle Road, at which point ABC 5 reports the Cleveland Browns player admitted both he and his girlfriend had previously been drinking.
