The devices were found near a train trestle and train service in the area has been affected.

Then on Monday morning, five devices were located in a suspicious package near an Elizabeth train station and one exploded when a police robot tried to disarm it, officials said.

Elizabeth Mayor Christian Bollwage said Rahami’s father, Mohammad, and two of Rahami’s brothers sued the city in 2011 after it passed an ordinance requiring the First American Fried Chicken restaurant to close early because of complaints from neighbors that it was a late-night nuisance. “It’s not in a highly congested area”, Bollwage told CNN.

Earlier: The New York Police Department said that it was looking for a 28-year-old man for questioning over a weekend explosion in a Manhattan neighbourhood that injured 29 people.

Authorities searched homes in Elizabeth and Perth Amboy, New Jersey, before releasing Rahami’s name and photo and sending a cellphone alert urging the public to call in with any information about him. On Sunday night, police blew up the device, rendering it safe.

The device was detonated in a controlled setting, Bollwage said. The sound of the explosion reverberated loudly as heard on video filmed by local media. A forensic examination of the device and its components will be conducted at the FBI Laboratory at Quantico, Virginia.

The New York City explosion Saturday night injured 29 people.

In a statement on Sunday, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said: “I strongly condemn the apparent terrorist attacks in Minnesota, New Jersey, and NY”. By Sunday, 26 of the injured who had been admitted to hospitals had been released. No one was injured due to delays to the race’s start time.

On Sunday, a team of five Federal Bureau of Investigation agents searched an Uber driver’s vehicle that had been damaged in the Manhattan blast, ripping off the door panels inside as they examined it for evidence.

Meanwhile, authorities are investigating the stabbings of nine people at a Minnesota mall as a potential act of terrorism.

One of the NY bombs was placed on 23rd street, under a dumpster.

“They will be there for the next few hours, going through this location to find any evidence possible, whether it’s in relation to this incident or the Chelsea incident”, he said.

The Democratic presidential nominee took questions from reporters Monday morning about the weekend bombings in Manhattan and New Jersey, which officials say increasingly look like acts of terrorism with a foreign connection. “We’re not taking any options off the table”.

Mobile phones were discovered at the site of both bombings, but no Tannerite residue was identified in the New Jersey bomb remnants, in which a black powder was detected, said the official. There were no immediate reports of any injuries or damage. “To understand there were any specific motivations, political motivations, any connection to an organization – that’s what we don’t know”.

“It could have been something personally motivated”.

The explosion occurred just after 8:30 p.m. ET at 133 W. 23rd St., between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. President Barack Obama likewise said earlier Monday that investigators see no connection between the bombings and the stabbings.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the Saturday night blast in Manhattan that injured 29 people didn’t appear to be linked to global terrorism. In the other video, a man can be seen placing a bag containing the pressure cooker on the sidewalk.

The device was transported to the NYPD Bomb Squad facility at Rodman’s Neck Range in the Bronx.

Both De Blasio and NY governor Andrew Cuomo declared on Sunday that the bombings did not appear to have an “international” component.

He was expected to comment Monday afternoon after a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi (HY’-dahr ahl ah-BAH’-dee) on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in NY. “Just assume there could be a terrorist attack anytime, anywhere”, Cuomo said. “We need the facts to be able to piece all this together”.
