Two children were found dead under a neighbor’s house Sunday near downtown and their mother told an acquaintance she drowned them in a bathtub, Houston police said.

According to Houston police spokesman Kese Smith, Sheborah Thomas matter-of-factly told the man that she had drowned her 7-year-old son, Oraylan, and 5-year-old daughter, Kahana, but the man didn’t believe her at first.
They say she attempted to bury them, but then made a decision to hide the bodies under the neighbor’s house.
Smith says investigators are interviewing the mother and have not determined a motive.
The acquaintance told authorities he came across Thomas dumping trash in a field and that she told him she needed help moving right away.
The 30-year-old woman was reported to police by a friend, who she had asked to help her move.
That person began helping the woman pack, and at one point, asked about where her kids were.
A Houston woman is in custody after confessing to murdering two of her children. He said she did not appear to have a history of mental illness.
According to the Chronicle, Child Protective Services has launched an investigation, and the Office of Child Safety will conduct a “top-to-bottom review”, according to Tejal Patel, a spokesperson for Child Protective Services. Their mother has been arrested and charged with their murder. It was not until the following day when she chose to place the bodies under a neighbor’s house because burying them was not an easy task for one person to do. The children lived in the Houston home for only a few months. As they packed her belongings, he asked about her children, wanting to know where they were. He claims she replied, “I told you that I killed them”. She told investigators she tried to use her use her hands and a piece of wood to dig a hole, but said the hole was not big enough and the bodies could still be seen.
“I never would have thought she would do that”.
Her 7-year-old brother Orayln Thomas was a bit more reserved. Police said she was not at the scene where the bodies were found but was able to tell officers where the children were. He says he then drove her back to her house and she went into detail about how she killed the kids and where she put them. Police say she then moved the bodies to an area beneath her neighbor’s home.
As of Monday morning, a GoFundMe page reportedly set up by Thomas-Smith had raised over $1,000 to pay for the children’s funeral services.
