A judge has ordered a Lakeville mother held on $50,000 bail after she allegedly kidnapped her two children on Monday.

Police said they had concerns for the safety of the children “due to the actions and statements made by McGrath in the last few weeks”.
According to a Boston Globe report, Valerie McGrath failed to return her 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son to their father after picking them up on Sunday.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lakeville police at 508-947-4422.
The children’s dad, Steven Carrigan, has sole custody.
Carrigan says he never thought McGrath would hurt the kids, but he didn’t know how far she’d take them.
The children were found safe in a McDonald’s drive-thru on Route 138 in Raynham Monday.
The children appeared to be in good health and were check out by EMS, but were eventually released to the custody of their father.

An attorney for McGrath could not immediately be reached. After checking with the court, Carrigan said she did not stay with the children the whole time because she believed she only had to be there during pick up and drop off. “I was praying that she wasn’t going to do anything to harm them”.
