Baker County Sheriff Joey Dobson said a man suspected of abducting a female pizza delivery driver at gunpoint Saturday night in Jacksonville should be considered armed and unsafe.

Police officials say the suspect abducted the female driver after luring her to an abandoned home in the city’s west side.

As they were heading westbound on Interstate 10, they came up on State Road 121 in Macclenny.

Several witnesses saw her jump from the trunk. She pulled the emergency trunk release handled and jumped out of the moving vehicle onto the highway, the Sheriff’s Office said. She was taken to the hospital in Macclenny for treatment, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

While police were investigating the kidnapping incident, they learned that the Union County Sheriff’s Office were also searching for Ruise in connection with an attempted robbery at a Dollar General store in Raiford.

Macclenny is about 30 miles west of Jacksonville and is on the way to Lake City.

Police and K9 units searched the area but did not find Ruise.

Family members told police they think Ruise may be staying in the Margaretta area or Lake City to see the mother of his children.

After traveling for a while, Ruise reportedly stopped the auto and told the victim to get into the trunk because he was uncomfortable with the amount of police in the area.
