Earlier the state authorities had dispatched a workforce of SDRF to rescue affected individuals however the workforce couldn’t proceed due to a number of landslides close to Tengnoupal village and had to return to Chandel district headquarters.

Following heavy death toll in West Bengal and Manipur, President Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the loss of lives due to Cyclone “Komen” in West Bengal and floods in certain areas of Bihar, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The NDRF team, which airdashed to Imphal on Saturday night, flew towards Joumol village, about 165 km from Imphal, in a helicopter on Sunday morning. “We have despatched the primary staff to the place of incident”, stated Shimray.
