Sheriff Anthony Wickersham reports that his detectives are investigating the possible drowning of Rowley, 58, from Milford.
According to deputies, a hat blew off the boat and into the water, and that’s when Rowley jumped overboard to get the hat.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team will continue their search this morning at approximately 7:00 am.
The 40 foot vessel circled several times trying to get Rowley a life preserver but high winds and choppy water created hard conditions for treading water. The driver, a 55-year-old man of Troy, has been taken into custody for driving while intoxicated. His name was not released.
The U.S. Coast Guard is also involved in the search for Rowley. The dive team was out searching the lake Saturday morning.
