Police seek man wanted in stabbing of 2 young relatives

Police responded to a home in the 6400 block of Roots Drive in Glen Burnie around 7:42 p.m. where they found the 10-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy suffering from stab wounds. As officers arrived, the three suspects ran out of the loading bay doors and got into a vehicle, which police followed from the mall parking lot and onto Ritchie Highway toward Route 100.

Police say detectives have obtained an arrest warrant charging 18-year-old Andres Rafael Quintana Garcia, a relative of both children, with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree attempted murder assault and reckless endangerment. The boy was taken to the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The girl will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of her death.

Police say Garcia is considered a violent and risky subject. They are now in the custody of MPD, however, Anne Arundel County police are working to obtain warrants and the State’s Attorney will move to extradite the suspects.

“He is described by police as a White/Hispanic male, approximately 5’05” tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds with brown hair and eyes. Police said he fled the home where the stabbing occurred on foot wearing gray-colored clothing.

Police from Anne Arundel County, Md., pursued the vehicle, which headed southbound on Interstate 295, reports WUSA9. Anyone with information also has the option of calling Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
