WBUR reported that authorities have asked for the public’s help to identify any suspect or suspects in Marcotte’s murder. “We’re so terribly sad for her family and friends”, said Colin Riley, the executive director of media relations at Boston University.
They urged anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area Sunday afternoon to call them.
Marcotte was a 2011 graduate of Boston University, which also mourned her death. “Somehow she immediately knew that’s what she wanted to do”, Quigley said.
When asked about a similar incident that took place at Spring Creek Park in Queens, N.Y. on August 2, Early said they haven’t ruled anything out but said they haven’t sent investigators to New York City.
