Police seek two more suspects linked to Paris attacks

(CNN) – Belgian authorities Friday released pictures of two unidentified men they’re seeking in connection with the probe into the fatal Paris attacks, saying they believe the two are linked to fugitive suspect Salah Abdeslam.

The Belgian prosecutor’s office has said that Abdeslam was stopped at the Hungary-Austria border in September accompanied by two men with fake IDs bearing the names Soufiane Kayal and Samir Bouzid.

Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the gun-and-bomb attack that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds in Paris.

At a news conference on Thursday in Budapest, the chief of staff of Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary said that Abdeslam had recruited a team of Paris attackers from unregistered migrants traveling through Hungary.

The identity card of Samir Bouzid was used to transfer money to Hasna Aitboulahcen, the cousin of attacks ringleader Abdelhamid Abaaoud, four days after the attacks, police said. Belgian authorities have asked citizens for help in the hunt for the two new suspects.

Investigators haven’t detailed what they believe Abdeslam’s role was in the Paris attacks, though Paris prosecutor Francois Molins has said he may have dropped off suicide bombers at the Stade de France just outside the capital, and then made his way to a Paris neighborhood before associates picked him up and drove him to Belgium. The other suspect is a Belgian, Pierre N., 28, who was arrested in the Brussels district of Molenbeek, Flemish VRT TV channel reported.

Police are still hunting for Europe’s most wanted Salah Abdeslam and fellow suspect Mohammed Abrini, both who were seen driving towards the Belgian border. Traces of blood and two handguns were found inside a vehicle of a fourth suspect, Lazez Abraimi.

Mohamed Bakkali, the owner of the house in Auvelais that was rented with Kayal’s card and used by the terrorists as a hideout, was charged with “terrorist murder and with participating in the activities of a terrorist group” on November 27, France24 reports.
