“I think it’s personally not a good thing”, Trump told “The Dori Monson Show” on KIRO Radio.

Colin Kaepernick plans to sit through the national anthem for as long as he feels is appropriate and until he sees major change in America, specifically when it comes to race relations.

But based on the experiences of other politically outspoken athletes, Kaepernick has a rough road ahead, especially as he has vowed to continue to sit during the national anthem in upcoming games.

Kaepernick, meanwhile, also had harsh words for Trump’s opponent in the November election, Hillary Clinton.

In his letter, Halloran called on the National Football League and 49ers to denounce Kaepernick for sitting during the Star Spangled Banner. He said on Sunday he is taking a stand against police brutality and the country’s oppression of minorities. But the American flag is what represents those freedoms.

Kaepernick told the NFL Network’s Steve Wyche on August 26 that that he (Kaepernick) refused to “show pride in the flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color”, and added: “There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder”.

Not to mention, the third verse of the National Anthem applauds the killing of African Americans, as the Intercept pointed out in the wake of Kaepernick’s protest.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said he was confident President Barack Obama is aware of Kaepernick’s actions but hadn’t spoken directly with the president about it. Harbaugh later said on Twitter, “I apologize for misspeaking my true sentiments”.

“Like, it’s an oxymoron that you’re sitting down, disrespecting that flag that has given you the freedom to speak out”.

“I listened to him and he makes all the sense in the world”. “People aren’t being held accountable for”. “I think about a lot of things”. “But when I look at that flag, I think about them too”. Kaepernick’s comments and decisions have been a hot topic of discussion over the last few days across the country from people saying that he doesn’t have a right to do what he did or that he should have went about it a different way.
