Political Analyst: Melania Trump’s RNC Speech “Inexcusable”
Former Trump campaign manager Cory Lewandowski, who was sacked last month, said that whoever was responsible for writing Ms Trump’s speech should be fired. As the votes were cast, Trump reached the 1,237 delegate votes required to be the official party nominee. A delegate from the district accused the party of trying to quiet anti-Trump dissent.

“It’s unbelievable. It’s surreal”.
Trump’s name will be put into nomination by Alabama Sen. “We are so proud of him”.
Trump doesn’t officially become the nominee until he accepts that nomination.
Many African-American delegates and Trump supporters aren’t taking the “Never Trump” movement or any other attempts to derail his nomination seriously.
Trump’s victory is not in doubt.
So who is the latest member of the Trump family to address the convention?
“You know, the Trump Organization, whether it’s Paul Manafort or anyone, all the way up to Donald Trump himself, anytime they are caught red handed engaging in distortions, inaccuracies, a fact pattern that is clearly not accurate, they blame someone else”, she said. “But it is what it is”. “Nor does Queen want ‘We are the Champions” to be used as an endorsement of Mr. Trump and the political views of the Republican Party”, the statement continued. How bad Clinton’s been and how bad Obama’s been.
New Jersey governor Chris Christie led delegates in declaring Clinton “guilty” and encouraged visceral chants of “lock her up”. The Clinton years are way over. The party effectively endorsed this week a strategy that leaves Israel to its own devices in its handling of the Palestinians- a departure from years of promises, across party lines, of American leadership toward conflict resolution.
(Top) A spokesperson for Melania sidestepped the allegations without directly denying them as well.
Mrs. Trump was widely praised for her success in doing just that, despite the plagiarism charges. The party’s decade-old embrace of a negotiated settlement with the Palestinians has now fallen by the wayside thanks to Trump, who does not favor a US-brokered peace effort, according to his Mideast advisers.
“To think she would do something like that knowing how scrutinised her speech was going to be last night is just really absurd”, campaign manager Paul Manafort said.
Trump’s campaign managed only to keep the controversy alive on Day 2 of the convention by insisting there was no evidence of plagiarism, while offering no explanation for how the strikingly similar passages wound up in Mrs. Trump’s address. “So it’s not an issue”, he told Time.com. A huge media horde surrounded the Colorado section at the back of the convention floor amid talk of another walkout to protest the Republican National Committee’s handling of the rules process Monday. There were no big missteps Tuesday, but the event was void of the glitzy, Hollywood touch Trump promised, with a series of Republican officials parading on stage to level sharp, but repetitive, criticisms of Clinton.
Donald Trump Jr made a sweeping speech peppered with personal anecdotes that humanized his father. Both were expected to highlight a more personal side of their father than is often seen in public.

Hundreds of Donald Trump supporters and foes had held dueling rallies a half-mile apart. “These were common words and values that she cares about her family and things like that”, Manafort said.
