Political Prediction Market: Clinton crushing Trump

“Over the last eight years, we’ve seen this administration refuse to hold her accountable for her dismal record as secretary of state”, Christie said.

The roll call vote of states gave Trump enough delegates to win the nomination after months of speculation and dissent within the GOP ranks.

Before Christie was in the running to be Trump’s running mate, he had been considered a top contender for the job of US attorney general in a Trump administration.

The Hillary Clinton campaign launched a Facebook Live session Tuesday in which it is reading the names of more than 5,500 lawsuits Donald Trump has been involved in.

Christie, who is governor of New Jersey and leads Trump’s White House transition team, said the campaign was drawing up a list of federal government employees to fire if Trump defeats Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the November 8 presidential election.

“As Republicans rally in Cleveland and Democrats prepare for their Philadelphia convention, Hillary Clinton seems to have her adopted home state votes safely locked up”, Quinnipiac pollster Maurice Carroll said in a statement.

In her address, Clinton cautioned her audience to be wary of Trump’s claim that he is on the side of working families. “Lock her up! Lock her up!” His son, Donald Trump Jr., was one of the delegates, and praised his father for starting a “movement”.

Clinton pounced on the tumult, saying the Republican gathering had so far been “surreal”, comparing it to the classic fantasy film “Wizard of Oz”. “But when you pulled back the curtain, it was just Donald Trump with nothing to offer the people”, Clinton said about the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee.

The crowd gathered in the cavernous convention hall reflected the growing dissatisfaction among some Republicans with party elites.

For Trump, the celebrations were a much-needed opportunity to regroup after a chaotic convention kickoff that included a plagiarism charge involving wife Melania Trump’s address on opening night. Find out via AP’s Election Buzz interactive.
