The race for the White House has narrowed.

Another poll showed Clinton ahead of Trump in Wisconsin, one of the traditionally Democratic midwestern states he has talked about targeting.

In addition, this is the first time the poll offers a four-way presidential ballot (it preceded the two-way ballot).

The latest poll also shows Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson with 7 percent, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein with 3 percent. The sampling error for the findings among 496 likely voters is 5.6 percentage points.Participants were selected to reflect voter registration characteristics reported by the Pennsylvania Department of State.

The New York City real estate mogul’s favorability hit an all-time-high in the national polls at 42 percent, but were short two points of the 45 percent who said that they would vote for Clinton.

Things can change quickly, especially in a race like this where people have strong negative feelings about both candidates. Trump leads in every education bracket except advanced degrees and has a 12-point advantage among baccalaureates.

Renowned statistician Nate Silver’s “Polls-plus” forecast on FiveThirtyEight on Thursday showed Trump with a 30% chance of winning the election. Trump now has the backing of 71% of Republicans, down from 76% a week ago.

The poll finds pros and cons for Trump.

Those ratings are Clinton’s worst in the quarter century she has spent in public positions, though still ahead of Trump’s 35-63 split.

#4. Clinton’s favorability numbers hit record lows in the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll. Yet he’s lost his advantage on handling top issues.

Clinton and Trump are the most unpopular presidential candidates in modern U.S. politics.

That came as numerous recent polls showed Trump increasingly close to Clinton. “Almost half of Johnson and Stein supporters say they’d be more likely to vote for him if he did”, said Democratic pollster Chris Anderson, who conducts the Fox News Poll along with Republican pollster Daron Shaw”.

This poll comes not long after another survey found that a majority of voters on both sides feel that the other candidate is evil. Overall, there has been a shift of 0.6 percent upward for Clinton and 2.5 percent down for Trump over the course of a full seven-day sample. The average puts Clinton with 42 percent support, Trump at 38 percent; Johnson at 8 percent and Stein at 3 percent. It’s likely there will be many polls released next week to mark that campaign kickoff, and since voters typically begin tuning in more closely to the campaign once the summer ends, those figures will be more meaningful for all candidates.
