Polls Open for GOP Primary, No Problems Reported So Far
They weren’t happy about having to vote early by using paper. Voters who do not have acceptable ID may apply for an ID (and receive a temporary ID) at the same time they come to cast their in-person absentee ballot at the Office of Voter Registration & Elections, 132 N. Royal Street, Suite 100.

In 2012, almost 26 percent of voters cast ballots, down from 46 percent in 2008 and 33 percent in 2004, according to statistics compiled by the secretary of state’s office.

Coming up March 5, Louisiana residents will get the opportunity to exercise their vote.
Voting is one of the most precious and important rights of citizens of our democratic form of government.
A final and critical piece of information about voting is that you must present a photo ID to vote in person.
Do not forget to bring valid photo identification.
The regular Election Day will be next Tuesday, March 1.
