Pop music artist Prince has died

It was not a big success. Beyond his music, the eclectic artist was known for his flamboyant appearance and wild outfits. Prince wasn’t merely a pop star – to many of us, he was much, much more. Day also started as Prince’s nemesis in the 1984 movie Purple Rain. Among his other notable releases: “Sign O’ the Times”, “Graffiti Bridge” and “The Black Album”.

Vanity, who was the lead singer of the girl group Vanity 6, was also Prince’s girlfriend. He plays all the instruments on the LP and produces it himself, making him, at 19-years-old, the youngest record producer in the history of Warner Bros.at the time.

Prince became an global sensation in the 1980s, when he popularised the Minneapolis sound of danceable funk.
