Pope Francis Arrives At Joint Base Andrews
Pope Francis did not seem surprised by the questions, but denied that his teachings on the economy and environment ever strayed from Church teaching. The red carpet was rolled out as he received a rock star-like welcome from the crowd at Joint Base Andrews. There was a large group of people – lots of young people singing and cheering and yelling, Francesco, Francesco. “You can really feel it. We just believe it’s the Holy Spirit that’s present”.

Pope Francis will be the fourth pope to visit the U.S and the 10th time a pope has made the journey. He’ll celebrate mass. He’ll canonize the first Hispanic saint in the United States, and he will eat with the poor. Following that meeting, the pope will travel in the iconic “popemobile” along the National Mall to thank the millions that have come out to see him. That’s who he is and that’s part of why he’s beloved all over the world. He said the visit to Cuba was a pastoral visit with the Catholic community. He said this was wrong, and his is simply administering church doctrine. He told reporters on his flight from Cuba that some people may have an inaccurate impression that he is “a little bit more left-leaning”.
He joked that he could gladly clear up any misconceptions about his Catholic bona fides: “If necessary, I’ll recite the creed”.
This is the third Pope Vanyo said he has had the opportunity to see in person.
The pope spoke in the foothills of the Sierra Maestra mountains where Castro and his brother Fidel commanded a guerrilla army that swept through the country and seized power in 1959.
“We’re anticipating it is going to be a very exciting and wonderful to be with other families that are doing their best to walk God’s path”, said Becky Cascino, who attends St. Andrews in Butler.

The United States on Friday announced new rules that further eased trade with the Communist-run island, including allowing certain US companies to open offices there and expanding banking activities, but it would take an act of Congress to lift the 53-year-old embargo. The press conference was limited to Cuba.
