Pope Francis Receives Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg in Vatican

The world’s 7th richest man and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg came into Nigeria yesterday.Some of the highlight of his visit is to see how he can support tech development in Africa. Vatican spokesman Greg Burke says a topic.

Pope Francis greeted Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan on Monday for a private audience at The Vatican.

He added: “It was a meeting we’ll never forget”.

He is hailed as the most influential tweeter among world leaders and launched the first ever papal Instagram account in March, quickly accumulating more than three million followers.

Zuckerberg and Pope spoke on how to use communication technologies to ease poverty and to make a message of hope arrive.

The Facebook Founder, Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday in Lagos said the social media application was planning to support more Nigerian languages on the platform. The aircraft successfully completed its first test flight just two months ago.

Facebook’s billionaire founder announced the donation had been made in the immediate aftermath of the the 6.0-6.2 magnitude quake, which left 290 dead and 2,700 homeless, while holding a Q&A at Rome’s Luiss University on Monday.

“We also discussed the importance of connecting people, especially in parts of the world without internet access”, said Zuckerberg of his meeting with the pope.

Throughout the a year ago, Zuckerberg has held a series of town halls with Facebook users in India, Germany, and Columbia, among other locations.

Zuckerberg said in a FB post that “this afternoon (my wife) Priscilla (Chan) and I sat down with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi”.

Zuckerberg was in the area for a Facebook Q&A in Rome on Monday and expressed his condolences for those dealing with the aftermath of last week’s deadly natural disaster in the country.

While Zuckerberg’s trip will be unforgettable after his meeting with Pope Francis, he said that Rome was already a special place for him.
