Pope Francis: You shall not kill – Pontiff calls for death penalty ban
Pope Francis was asked a question about Trump on his journey home from Mexico. A spokesman for the Pope immediately tried to clarify the comment saying the Pope’s comments weren’t meant as “a personal attack”.

The statement was not well received by the business tycoon candidate, who said it was disgraceful for a religious leader to question a person’s faith. He said last week that the pope’s plans to pray at the border showed he was a political figure being exploited by the Mexican government.
Supporters who introduced him took subtle shots at Pope Francis Friday for his remarks Thursday that a person who advocates building walls is “not Christian”.
The Pope just wrapped up a six-day visit in Mexico during which he visited the boarder city of Ciudad Juárez. Again, that is acceptable.
On GOP side, election officials in York County say absentee votes were double the 2012 numbers, at 2,023.
“I think that’s a relationship they have with their Lord and savior and themselves.
He’s a lot of energy”, Trump said at a townhall organised by CNN in SC.
Earlier this week, a reporter in Mexico asked Pope Francis about the idea of building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, the pope said it was not Christian.
“The commandment, “Thou shalt not kill” has absolute value, and concerns both the innocent and the guilty,” and even criminals “maintain the inviolable right to life, the gift of God”, Pope Francis said.
While most of those interviewed said they respected the pope’s moral authority, Joe Ruggiero, 70, thought Francis sometimes “gets a little carried away” with what he characterized as a “basically socialist” point of view. “If I were African-American, I would be so angry at him”, Trump said at a campaign rally in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with an audience of more than 5,000.
“I think his goal was really not political”, he said.
The candidate later changed his tone, saying he does not like fighting with the pope, and like’s what the papal leader represents.
“I don’t think [Trump] disparaged the Pope”, he added – with a concession that “sometimes maybe Donald could use some better words”.
“It is not that the pope wishes to be, in any way, a personal attack nor an indication of voting”, Lombardi said, according to a translation from the Vatican press office.

Trump said the Francis was misinformed when he criticized the proposed wall, because he was unaware of the drugs coming in and the other security problems.
