Pope Throws Pizza Party for Homeless After Canonizing Mother Teresa

Her elevation to Roman Catholicism’s celestial pantheon came in a canonisation mass in St Peter’s square in the Vatican that was presided over by Pope Francis in the presence of 100,000 pilgrims. Today, there are 4,500 sisters of mercy.

In honor of the new saint’s lifelong mission, organizers bused in 1,500 homeless people to her canonization Mass. Six thousand miles away those in Sacramento gathered to do the same.

“She is witness to mercy and holiness, and one who inspires me in my spiritual life and in my ministry of service”, Gomez wrote.
