Porsche Develops Cayman GT4 Clubsport
Porsche has confirmed a track-only Cayman GT4 Clubsport will debut at the 2015 LA Motor Show in November. A few enthusiasts went as far as to say that this will cannibalize the 911, but true connoisseurs aren’t anxious at all. This article isn’t about it anymore, but about the Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Following its debut, the Cayman Clubsport will be eligible for a number of racing series across the globe, along with a handful of North American championships – including the Pirelli World Challenge, which races at Ontario’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park – pending homologation.

The front suspension setup, comprising of lightweight struts, is taken from the 911 GT3 Cup auto, while all four corners feature a set of 380mm steel brake discs to ensure repetitive stopping performance.
The upcoming Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport will be making use of an updated body kit, which will bring new front and rear bumpers, a large rear wing, a rear diffuser and probably a few extended fenders.
Images included are of the regular, road-going Porsche Cayman GT4.
Being based on the Cayman GT4, the new race vehicle comes with a 3.8-liter flat-six engine that matches the road car’s 385-horsepower rating.
Full details are being kept under wraps until the beginning of the Los Angeles show, so what the Clubsport will look like inside and out is anyone’s guess for the time being.

The most important part of the racer is found under its hood and, despite not knowing exactly what this will be, expect a six-cylinder engine which will be working together with the double-clutch transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. Tipping the scales at just 1,300 kilograms, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport, delivered ex-works with a welded-in safety cage, a racing bucket seat as well as a six-point harness, is truly lightweight.
