Porsche Fires Back at Paul Walker’s Wrongful Death Lawsuit

After nearly two months of a death lawsuit being filed against them, auto giant Porsche has replied to Meadow Walker, daughter of deceased star Paul Walker. According to the suit, filed by his daughter in Los Angeles Superior Court in September, alleging negligence and wrongful death, the Porsche Carrera GT Walker was driving is “a risky auto that doesn’t belong on the street”.

“The subject 2005 Carrera GT was abused and altered after having been placed into the stream of commerce in a manner that was not reasonably forseeable to (Porsche)”, the paperwork said. Porsche says, “the misuse and improper maintenance proximately caused or contributed to the incident and to Mr. Walker’s death”.

The statements continue to accuse that the side door reinforcements were weaker than what can be found in cars that are both cheaper and designed for slower speeds than the Carrera GT. Furthermore, it was claimed that the company failed to fix the car’s electronic stability control system even though the model has a history of said issues.

Paul’s daughter and her legal team think that the seat belt in the auto was defective, so that it “snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis”, she also thinks the actor was alive when the vehicle caught fire, and the seatbelt prevented him from escaping.

TMZ report that Porsche have placed the blame for the crash on Paul Walker, who they describe as a “knowledgeable and sophisticated user of the 2005 Carrera GT”.

Dan Watson/AP First responders gather evidence near the wreckage of a Porsche sports vehicle that crashed into a light pole on Hercules St. near Kelly Johnson Pkwy.in Valencia on November 30, 2013.

To summarise their claim, the auto company said the late actor was aware of the potential dangers involved in driving the vehicle and he himself is responsible for the fatal accident.

Investigators determined the Porsche was traveling a few 90 miles per hour before it careened into a tree.
