Porzingis scores career-high 29, Knicks top Bulls 115-101

Carmelo Anthony returned to the New York Knicks’ starting lineup Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls after missing a loss Sunday night against Sacramento because of a migraine headache. Afflalo finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and a season-high seven assists with just one turnover in 35 minutes.

“I looked up at the scoreboard in the fourth quarter and saw how many (points) I had, but I didn’t know about the record”. But the Celtics responded with a 10-4 run to get the separation they needed to close it out. They reached a level Chicago couldn’t match, shooting 13 of 21 (61.9 percent) from the field and hitting 5 of 7 from behind the 3-point line (71.4 percent).

Chicago fell into ninth place in the Eastern Conference, one game behind in and Detroit. Chicago went 6 of 19 from the floor in the third (31.6 percent) and 2 of 7 on 3s (28.6 percent).

From the Bulls side in this National Basketball Association preview, Nikola Mirotic scored a career-high 35 points in the loss.

“I know this is a team game, but if one of your so-called best players is not doing what their supposed to do, that’s what is going to happen”, Butler said.

There were 16 lead changes in the first half, as NY clung to a 57-55 lead at halftime.

The Knicks were 14-of-25 from 3-point range.

Rose got the Bulls within 10 late in the fourth, but Porzingis hit a jumper.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bulls are 8.5-point home favorites versus the Knicks while the over/under now sits at 202 points after it originially opened at 204. Bulls G E’Twaun Moore (left hamstring) missed his third straight game and will not make the upcoming trip to NY and Orlando. “Hopefully, we’ll get E’Twaun back, or at least get a better idea when we get back”, coach Fred Hoiberg said.

Porzingis made 11 of 15 shots and added 10 rebounds as he recorded his first double-double under Rambis, who has been partly criticized for Porzingis’ lack of productivity over the last month.
