A Saudia Airlines commercial flight had been placed in isolation at a Ninoy Aquino International Airport runway on Tue afternoon, Sep 20.

The plane is carrying returning pilgrims from the annual hajj.

A military source who is at the airport told Rappler that the passengers have been asked to leave the plane after authorities were told that the pilot had made a mistake.

Some local reports on Twitter suggest the plane may have been hijacked.

The Philippines’ civil aviation authority said a security situation was underway but did not confirm local reports of a hijacking.

Jeanette Andrade tweeted a video of the isolated plane from the scene.

Passengers on board the Air India flight AI729 were left petrified when they were evacuated from the plane following the bomb scare.

The call was received at around 8am local time at the airport.
