Possible non-travel related case of Zika under investigation
The caregiver had not traveled to a Zika-affected area or had sex with an infected person, Staples said.

Although unlikely because the Zika-carrying mosquitoes do not live in Utah, officials are also considering local mosquito transmission.
Another case of Zika virus has been confirmed in a North Dakota resident, the third such instance of the mosquito-spread illness, the state Department of Health said.
Exactly how the disease was transmitted is still a mystery, though the person has since recovered.
A blood sample taken after his death showed the amount of virus in his system was more than 100,000 times higher than what has been seen in samples from other infected persons, the CDC said.
In the NY case, transmission of the virus occurred on the day that a woman in her 20s returned to the city from an area with active Zika transmission and had a single encounter of unprotected sex with a male partner, according to a report published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Florida could be seeing its first non-travel-related Zika case. Additional information about how the patient possibly contracted Zika was not available Tuesday night. The most common symptoms include fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (pink eye). According to the guidelines, women who want to become pregnant following a visit to these countries are encouraged to wait a minimum of eight weeks, while men should consider using a condom from eight weeks to six months.
The CDC, however, has not revised its advice to healthcare workers or caregivers in the light of the new case.
The virus is transmitted to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito.
Zika has spread through blood at least once in a lab and could have passed to the son through saliva or blood if he had a small cut or scrape on his hand, Schaffner said. Pregnant women are the most likely demographic to seek testing due to the associated risk of birth anomalies.
A Pierce County man in his 20s has tested positive for the Zika virus.

All the infections have been travel related and none originated from local mosquito populations, the CDC said.
