Postal Connections: MMA Legal in NYC, McGregor-Diaz 2

Diaz admitted he was interested in fighting McGregor again in a Fox Sports interview earlier this week.

Conor McGregor will go down as one of the most entertaining talkers in UFC history. “That’s how I feel”, Diaz explained. Now sure, the show is about MMA, so it’s not like doing “The Tonight Show”.

This all started following Diaz’s upset victory over Conor McGregor at UFC 196, when Bieber posted a salute to Mac on his Instagram, calling him “a true champion [that] fights with style and finesse”, while also dismissing Diaz’s fighting style as “terrible”. I understand why some fans are upset with the booking.

“If there’s a second fight I’ll fight at 155 pounds [because] I’d like to be in shape”, Diaz said. I tried to explain my thoughts on why the company would re-book a fight that seems unwinnable for one of their big-time earners and the best I could come up with was that the first fight did a mammoth pay-per-view number.

“It’s a real fight”.

While the feud with Bieber was short lived, it appears that the rivalry with McGregor will continue at UFC 200.

Despite his recent shock loss to Nate Diaz, Dubliner McGregor remains the biggest star in MMA, which has made him a household name in America. “[I don’t want] to have to hear no excuses”. “I’ll make 55. I was planning on making 55 last time”. “The best fighters in the world are getting paid the best money”.

“When you get a real fight, people appreciate it”.

We await the official announcement with baited breath…

Diaz says he holds a grudge against an opponent only because they are about to fight and he treats that just like somebody who is about to trade fists with another person in the streets – it’s kill or be killed.
