As the jackpots grow, so does the popularity of tickets. One man at the store showed us his cell phone as he took numbers from his mother in Jerusalem. That’s when Doug Miron of Marinette won nearly $31.5 million.
Sixteen Powerball drawings have gone by without a winner-it was last hit on November 4. The winning ticket, officials said, matched all five white balls – 12-36-38-54-61 – but not the red Powerball (22). Wednesday is another major Powerball jackpot night.
Every year, millions of people around the world buy lottery tickets hoping to win some big cash.
Donald Lawson, of Lapeer, holds the record for the largest Lottery prize ever won in MI after claiming a $337 million Powerball jackpot in August 2012. “Both prizes must be claimed at Hoosier Lottery headquarters at 1302 N. Meridian St.in Indianapolis”, the release states.
The Powerball drawing tonight will take place at 10:59 p.m.
