Saturday’s Classic Lotto jackpot will be $9.6 million after no tickets matched the numbers from Wednesday’s drawing.

If one a player matches five correct numbers and the PowerBall at Friday’s draw, 15 July, they would certainly become Ithuba’s highest lottery jackpot victor.
Saturday’s jackpot is the 13th largest in the game’s history but well shy of the biggest Powerball prize – $1.586 billion from this past January. The estimated jackpot was $311 million. Those winning tickets were sold in California, Florida and Tennessee.
Powerball is offered in 44 States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
Neither of those players played the Power Play option, which would have increased their winnings to $2 million.
The odds of winning the jackpot are around 1 in 292.000,000, while the odds of collecting some sort of prize is 1 in 25. Players select five white numbers from (1 to 69) and one red ball (1 to 26) Tickets cost $2 each.
The pot has been growing for 20 drawings.
The PowerBall jackpot which stood at R65 million eluded everyone for the 17th time on Tuesday to balloon to its highest jackpot since 2012.
